The Pursuit of True Value
How do you perceive value?
Even the most budget-conscious among us has to make purchasing decisions from time to time. Here's a perspective for you to consider the next time you need to buy something.
The other day I started listening to an audio book in which the author promised things would "get a little bit better" in my life if I listen to the end.
I quit listening immediately.
We live in a world where we can give and receive more than “a little bit better” in just one coaching session.
Why would I listen to a book for 6 hours on 1.25 times speed for a little bit better?
Over coffee with a fellow business-owner friend, she told me she paid a couple hundred dollars for an online course.
"I pay for nuggets," she said.
In this course she learned the right next step to take in her business (the 'nugget'), so she feels she got more than she paid for.
She paid a couple hundred dollars for one nugget of information that propelled her forward in her business. It was the breakthrough, information, and idea she needed to get unstuck.
In my business, I call this going farther, faster...without hustle.
Of course, we don't always need to invest a lot or money in things. Quick hair trims, washing a car at home, and generic brand canned green beans can totally serve their purpose.
But if you want authentic change...careful you don’t put a price on that.
You’ll get what you pay for:
You'll get a bandaid.
You'll get enough to get by.
You'll reap what you sow.
In other words...incremental input equals incremental results.
When you invest in true change, you'll get 10x the value of the time and money spent.
Therefore, I offer you this perspective as a lens to consider the next time you're making a purchase.
You get to choose which perspective you want to lean on:
Incremental solutions for cheap prices... or
Radical, high-value progress
Find ways to go further, faster...without hustle!
