A Decision Making Model for You
I believe knowledge is power and wisdom is priceless.
This belief drives my desire to share with you every week via these emails.
And this belief is the cornerstone of a decision making model that God gave to me during a season of overwhelm, many years ago.
I’ve shared it with numerous direct reports, volunteers, loved ones, and clients, and today I want to share it with you:
Imagine a 3-legged stool.
This 3-legged stool will be wobbly if you do not make sure each leg is considered when making decisions.
One leg represents God.
The second leg represents your family, place of work, business, friends, etc.
The third leg represents you.
Each leg must be honored appropriately for the decision to be effective.
When considering a decision, ask yourself:
Does my decision honor God?
Does it honor others?
Does it honor…ME?
You probably have no problem considering God and others, but how good are you at considering yourself?
On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being high), where would you rate yourself, on honoring yourself?
What would it look like to honor yourself more in your life?
As I prepare to celebrate my birthday this week, my heart is full knowing that I give myself a higher score on this scaling question today than I did a year ago.
I wish each of you an opportunity this week to make a decision that keeps the 3-legged stool of your life in balance.
