Need a Magic Wand?
"I don't know where to start!"
I hear that a lot. It's most often said when I ask a person on a zoom coaching call what they'd like to be coached on.
Truth be told, I've even said it myself.
There's always a good place to start when it comes to coaching.
We simply look ourselves square in the face and admit where we need help in our lives.
I've had coaches help me with a number of things:
burnout
imposter syndrome
a value conflict between my leader and me at work
time management
goal setting
health
Allow me to ask you a question that nails your answer about coaching down...
If you could wave a magic wand and make anything happen in your life, what would it be?
Maybe you wish you could pay off your college debt.
Perhaps you need help creating a plan to be promoted at work.
It's possible that you long to bypass your workaholic tendencies and have fun at home.
Whatever your answer to that question, it's valid.
Your answer speaks to a longing with you that you wish could be fulfilled but feel some doubt about.
Doubts, narratives, limiting beliefs, and circumstances are all things I coach people about.
My intent is to reveal to you that you're experiencing something that coaching could help you with.
You could diminish your suffering and shorten your journey by being coached.
You don't have to hire me. You could do loads of other things:
listen to my podcast,
read my weekday emails (like the one you're reading right now),
check out my resources (including an upcoming course!)
or hire another coach.
Just be sure you start with the simplest step of all: answer that question above.
Then I want you to set a timer on your phone for 60 seconds.
During those 60 seconds, imagine that you got help in some fashion and made
major progress in the area that's feeling stuck in your life.
How does it feel?
What do you think when you're free of this worry?
What's possible now that it's a much less difficult situation?
Feel the freedom and hope in anticipating the growth ahead for you when you develop self-awareness, improve emotional processing capacity, and increase trust in yourself.
So glad we're on this journey together!
