3 Beliefs to Supercharge Your Career & Life

Listen to 3 Beliefs to Supercharge Your Career & Life

(00:01):

Hey there everyone. Welcome to today's episode. I really want to talk about three game-changing beliefs that can completely boost your career. I'm excited to talk about this because I think there are so many women who, if they could authentically believe just one of these three beliefs, they would have more energy at work. They would see the outcomes they're longing to see in their work, and they would enjoy it more. So if you're looking for any of those things to improve in your career, let's talk. Okay, let's dive right in. The first game-changing belief that can boost your career is if you were able to authentically believe that you are not alone. I want you to measure on a scale of one to 10, what's your belief in that statement? One, believing that you were completely alone, or 10 meaning that you are surrounded by an amazing community of people who help you in your work.

(01:07):

This is a game changing belief because when a woman believes that she's alone, she functions in a way that proves that to be true. She is finding evidence to prove that she's alone. She might start resenting others and she's getting results that are lackluster because she feels that she's had to do it all herself. Now, no one enjoys feeling that way, but sometimes we try to be super realistic and we just tell ourselves we need to go it alone and do the best we can. And that could mean that you were experiencing a setback in your career or even possibly in your personal life because you're feeling that you are alone. So if you're feeling alone, I want you to challenge that belief. Look for the evidence of the people around you to support you, to help you. And keep in mind it might not be directly at work.

(01:54):

You might need people to help out with things in your personal life or at home so that you can focus on work or vice versa. You might need to delegate some things at work and spend a little bit of less time there so you can enjoy it more, and so that you're able to navigate things at home with greater ease and find enjoyment there. Okay, so that's the first belief. The second game-changing belief that can boost your career is if you honestly believe that others grow when you grow. Now, I've had some pushback on this before when I've coached women on it because they'll say, well, I don't have any direct reports, or I'm not sure that I'm really influencing anyone at work. And I respectfully disagree because I think we all have influence at the tables at which we sit. So whether or not you have direct reports when you grow, the people around you are going to grow. They're going to improve. You can't learn something and not share it. You're going to show up, sit at the tables that you're at. You're going to bring new wisdom, new

(02:58):

Knowledge, new understanding. You can be vulnerable in the areas in which you're trying to grow, and that will spread in the best way like wildfire among your team and maybe even beyond your team. What I love about this game changing belief for your career is it not only impacts your work and impacts things in your personal life. So when you start growing, your friends will grow or your loved ones will grow, your kids will improve, and their emotional and mental health if you grow in your emotional and mental health, this is such a beautiful image of how God works in the kingdom to help us expand our understanding of things and then share it with others so that we can all raise the water level and improve the service that we are giving those close to us and those who are beyond even the direct influence that we have.

(03:53):

So the second game changing belief is that others grow when I grow. And the third game changing belief that can completely boost your career is this, people need what I offer. People need what I offer. This is such an important one to embrace, and that is understanding that there is no other. You are the only your unique experiences, your giftings, your perspective on things. We need what you offer. And if you are willing to trust that that's true, and to in faith act on that statement as being true, you are going to see people respond accordingly. They will step up, step forward, and reach out to receive what you are offering. Now, the caveat here is you have to offer it. You have to let people know what you're available for. You need to take up a little bit more space. Put those offers out there, and you will see people respond in time because God made no mistake in giving you the experiences and the giftings you have so that it can serve other people.

(05:17):

So now that you know these three game-changing beliefs that can boost your career, I want you to think back on them. Here they are. I am not alone. Others grow when I grow and people need what I offer. So think back on those three statements. Which of those three beliefs do you most want to take on right now? I want you to look that belief fully in the face. You might have some doubt about it. That's okay. No problem. We all do at different phases of our lives. But take on the one that you doubt the most. I want you to look at it fully. I want you to run some experiments.

(05:57):

See if you can find evidence that prove that this statement is true, so that you can enjoy your work more. You will be able to serve others better, and you will ultimately increase the fulfillment in how you spend your time, how you earn your money, and who you're investing in. All right, friends, send me an email at Dana dana buyers coaching.com. I would love to hear how you take on one of these three game-changing beliefs and how it boosts your career.
