Waiting on a Breakthrough?

The more we need a breakthrough, the more elusive it can feel.

Maybe you're like me today.

Maybe you've been waiting on God for a breakthrough for awhile.

You've been praying.

You've been obeying.

You feel like God is silent.

I recently sat down and coached myself on a situation where I'm waiting on a breakthrough, and I want to share with you 2 things I did to shift my perspective.

  1. I chose to shift my language from "waiting" to "anticipating". There's more hope in anticipation, in my opinion. Waiting has a tinge of victimhood to it. Anticipation feels like active watching with faith mixed in.

  2. I answered this coaching question: What are the breakthroughs I'm already living in?

Some of the breakthroughs that feel like old news to me today were nothing less than a miracle to me when they happened.

Let's move our focus for a moment to all that God's already done and is capable of doing as a means of anticipating His breakthrough with gratitude and faith.
